Jason Shafrin

Jason Shafrin is completing a Ph.D. in Economics (June 2009) at the University of California-San Diego. His research investigates health related topics using methods from the labor economics, public economics, experimental economics and health services research fields.

• Will complete a Ph.D. student of Economics at the University of California-San Diego in June 2009.
• Founder and Editor of the Healthcare Economist blog.
• Media Appearances include radio interviews and a television appearance on Al Jazeera English's international news broadcast.
• Worked for two years as a financial analyst at General Electric in their Financial Management Program (FMP).
• Graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Received a B.S. of Economics from the Wharton School in Business and Public Policy as well as a B.A. from the School of Arts and Sciences in Spanish.
• Received a Government Scholars Fellowship to work for the New York City Housing Authority's Capital Budget Department
